A boisterous Acadiana contingent brought a generous dose of Cajun hospitality to the Washington, D.C., Mardi Gras celebration at the Washington Hilton. Lafayette’s suite was the place to be for fabulous food and live music by Walter Jr. Too bad one pugnacious porker tried to put a damper on the party by slinging spiteful sludge against this publication (can anybody guess who that was?). But the festivities carried on, continuing from mimosas at breakfast to post-party suite soirees lasting into the wee hours.
Beloved cartoon characters including Shrek and Fiona, Fred and Wilma Flintstone, Charlie Brown and Lucy, Popeye and Olive Oyl, Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner and Roger and Jessica Rabbit bombarded spectators with beads at the Krewe of Triton Ball & Mini Parade at the Cajundome. And, because we all know that what happens during Mardi Gras stays at the ball, That’s All, Folks!
