Party Girl crooned some holiday tunes at the recent "Sing for Your Supper" party hosted by Marty and Janice LeBlanc. Pianist Kurt Boudreaux hammered out some jazzy holiday numbers while guests and their children requested their favorites. The highlight of the evening was a hearty rendition of "Twelve Days of Christmas." Party Girl led the girls on the odd numbers, while the boys sang the even ones. We gals sang prettier, but the guys had us beat on volume. Couldn't leave the party until I got the recipe for Maureen Veazey's crawfish appetizer!
One of Party Girl's favorite stops on her holiday party list is Dr. Rachelle Meaux's annual Christmas event at her lovely home. An exceptionally detailed Christmas Village graced the fireplace mantle, with other beautiful holiday decorations spilling over into rooms of the house denoting a theme of family and friends. Delicious food, holiday refreshments and a wide assortment of desserts never ran out during the night. Among the special guests who enjoyed the evening were Emmett and Dottie Gauthier and Debbie and Robert Mahony. Late in the evening, one of Lafayette's local favorites, "Marilyn Monreaux," made a surprise Christmas visit, singing "Santa Baby" to special gentlemen in attendance. After that entertainment, others felt inspired to join in the Christmas spirit by kicking off their shoes and dancing the night away.
