






A more traditional type of dancing around these parts took place at Vermilionville's Creole Culture Day. In addition to zydeco dance lessons, the event included a cooking demo and storytelling. The Catalon family also received a nice surprise when Vermilionville presented them with a plaque that their late craftsman father left in the village's Mouton House. The event's Creole Heritage Award is named after Richard J. Catalon and went to Herbert J. Wiltz this year. The day was rounded out with a special juré performance by Cedric Watson and Brandon Ledet.
From there Party Girl hopped over to the other Vermilionville ' Café Vermilionville ' as the Lafayette Parish Bar Association celebrated its 34th year. Its past presidents met at the restaurant to discuss the future, and great legal minds present included Norman Foret, Jennifer Kleinpeter, Margaret Ritchey, John McElligott, Gary McGoffin, Kenny Oliver, Pat Ottinger, Joseph Oelkers, Glenn Armentor, Lee Leonard, Dean Cole, Tom Porter, Joe Giglio, Mike Hebert, Richard Becker, Richard Broussard, John Swift, Lamont Domingue, Greg Voorhies, Tommy Hightower, Judge Thomas Duplantier and Frank X. Neuner. That's quite a prestigious mouthful for Party Girl! Keep up the good work, LPBA.
