Move over Coach... I’m about to enrich my life with vintage saddle bags!
It’s not just a Cowgirl thing, saddle bags are in. I found a large collection of purses at Sky Blue Clothing Studio on Ambassador Caffery Parkway in the Pearson Shopping Center. I am having a hard time choosing between the rustic satchel and the honey colored saddle bag. Although my all time favorite is the tooled floral design one; it reminds me of my mother when I was a child.
If you’re wild about the west (insert John Wayne accent here), stop on in at Sky Blue Clothing Studio. It’s located at 3810 Ambassador Caffery Parkway in Lafayette. For more information you can call them at 337.534.4753
David Calhoun and Elizabeth “EB” Brooks are the first two employees of Lafayette Central Park Inc., the nonprofit charged with turning Lafayette Consolidated Government’s 100-acre Johnston Street Horse Farm property into a passive public park. Calhoun was named executive director, and Brooks is director of planning and design.
There will soon be a whole lot of shakin’ going on at Benny’s Sportshack Supplement Depot, a new concept by Opelousas native Benny Nele. Located at 2002 Johnston St., the supplement shop, smoothie bar and café, featuring hot off the press paninis and wraps, plans to open in late May.
